TEST EQUIPMENT

Here are a few pictures of some of my test equipment. The top picture is of some of the slugs for the Bird Watt meter. The picture on bottom left is a power meter. And on the right is a Bird Watt meter. Both meters are used to test the power of my transmitters.

The Bird meter is also used to check the SWR of the aerials. With the various slugs, the meter is used on all the frequencies that I use, and it is the most useful of all the test gear I have. It should be the first piece of test equipment you buy.It was for me.

ATV Mobile.

The picture below shows me mobile on23cms ( 1.2GHz).
The antenna in the background on the roof rack is a slot antenna ,
and the other pice of equipment is a pan and tilt camera unit.
It has a 10 watt transmitter and cammera installed inside, and it all can be opperated from inside

Welcome to the new blog of Pat EI2HX

Hello all and welcome to my new blog. I am Pat Fitzpatrick EI2HX, a licenced radio amateur in Drogheda, Ireland. I have been interested in radio most of my life and have been licenced for 20 years. My special area of interest is ATV and microwave and I am regularly to be found conducting experiments in the shack and portable or mobile.

I write a monthly column for Echo Ireland, the magazine of the Irish Radio Transmitters' Society (IRTS). I plan to use this blog to keep you informed about my radio experiments and I hope that you enjoy it. If you wish to comment on anything or ask a question, don't hesitate to email me at patfitzpatrick (AT) hotmail (DOT) com.
